EAT MY RUBBER

This weekend is the Daytona 500 (check your local listings). I’m not a HUGE race fan, but I like to fall asleep watching it on a Sunday afternoon. I have friends that are really into it, although I don’t know who to cheer for.
Ricky Rudd or Kevin Harvick? Let the debate begin in the comments section below.
What I do know is that I like the number 8. Mostly because if you turn is sideways it looks like the symbol for infinity.
I’ll watch the race as a casual fan. Casual fans think the speed is cool, the cars are cooler, and the crashes are the coolest. NASCAR is to crashes what the WWE is to wrestling. In the end, you’re head will be spinning but your going to remember at least one flaming crash.
The first race Z watched of NASCAR was the Daytona 500 when Dale Earnhardt Sr died. She saw the crash. She heard the news. She found it unbelievable.
I mostly just like to race on my own. Not so easy with a Metro. But one day I’d like to let ‘er rip on a quarter mile oval. What’s the worst that could happen? Blow the engine? Again?
They say betting makes games more meaningful. I don’t bet, but here is what I will do. I’ll hold on to these chocolate NASCAR treats and eat them in the reverse finishing order. The one that comes closest to winning (without going over?) will get to sit on my desk going stale. The others will be eaten…
It’s a win-win for me! Mmmmmmmm... NASCAR....

HOw do you fall asleep watching the Indy 500? it is LOUD! back in the days when i had a tv, i would fall asleep on sunday watching golf....it's a QUIET sport and even the announcers talk quietly! that's about all i can think of to talk about on here since i'm not a race fan either, but hey......
My spouse has also turned on the races for casual viewing...
That's why I'm up here on the computer.
You've got to be the only person I know who uses NASCAR to help you fall asleep..then again, I guess the cars going round in circles is kinda hypnotic..
Ah the hypnotic drone of high octane engines. A redneck lullaby.
I just like rooting for the broke down old timers. Go Mark Martin!!! His numbers fun because if you turn it over and put it besides it's rightly oriented original it makes me giggle like a schoolgirl.
Missed yesterday's but am going to try and catch next weekends. I'm an open wheel racing fan myself (20 dqays until F1 starts again!!), but am trying to get into the whole NASCAR thing to see what it's all about. Gotta be more to it than 300 to 500 miles of left turns!!
I like Cole Trickle. He's the coolest.
I think I'd still get lost with all those turns.
Well, if your still unsure of who to cheer for, Ricky Rudd or Kevin Harvick. Id go for Harvick...Rudd dont race no more ya'll
hey mr jodster... been a while since an update - you hanging up your blogging spurs??
